Arriving into Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport puts you close to the heart of France's culinary capital. With its blend of Renaissance architecture, Roman ruins and world-class gastronomy, a scooter rental gives you the perfect set of wheels to explore this charming city at your own pace. Start by parking up near Vieux Lyon, the Renaissance old town, to wander the cobbled streets that wind their way to the Gothic Cathédrale Saint-Jean and the Roman amphitheater on Fourvière hill.
Stop for an espresso on a café terrace in Place Bellecour, then continue your exploration across the Saône river to the Presqu'île peninsula. Here you'll find Quai Saint-Antoine lined with bars perfect for people watching as the sun goes down. With France's reputation for fine dining, Lyon certainly doesn't disappoint.
Treat yourself to a multi-course dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant like Paul Bocuse or make a reservation at the iconic Brasserie Georges where the walls are adorned with paintings by local artists. Don't miss Lyon's famous contribution to French cuisine - make sure to sample the melt-in-your-mouth beef bourgignon and quenelles that the city is renowned for. Away from the center, take your scooter through the Parc de la Tête d'Or, stopping to enjoy the boating lake before heading south to explore the hip Guillotière district.
Or make the short ride northwest to Croix-Rousse, wandering the charming cobblestone streets and stopping for a drink at one of the many cafés that give this district its village atmosphere. With so much to experience in Lyon and its surrounds, a scooter gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. Discover the very best of France's culinary capital by booking your rental today.
