Arriving into either Athens International Airport or Mykonos Island National Airport puts you within easy reach of the gorgeous seaside village of Kini on the western coast of Syros island. Getting your own set of two wheels, whether a motorcycle, scooter or quad bike, is the ideal way to explore this picturesque Greek island paradise. Kini itself is a relaxed and charming fishing village, with a picturesque little harbor filled with traditional wooden fishing boats bobbing on the turquoise waters.
The village has a nice selection of tavernas, cafes and shops to enjoy, where you can sample fantastic local Greek cuisine while gazing out over the Aegean sea. Just a short ride away is the main town of Ermoupoli, known for its incredible neoclassical architecture, winding alleyways, vibrant nightlife and historical sites like the grand old Town Hall. Heading north takes you to some of Syros' most striking beaches, like Delfini with its sparkling blue waters and Galissas beach known for its water sports.
Inland you'll find hilltop villages like San Michalis with panoramic views over olive groves and vineyards. Or head south to Vari and Megas Yialos for even more spectacular golden sandy beaches and beachside tavernas. The whole island can easily be explored via motorcycle, scooter or quad bike hire, allowing you to discover secluded coves and take in the gorgeous landscape.
Whether you want to spend lazy days on the beach, discover historic sites, experience Greek island culture or simply cruise along stunning coastal roads - getting your own set of wheels is the perfect way to make the most of your Syros escape.
