Sardegna is an island in the Mediterranean, and is one of the 20 regions of Italy. When visiting Sardegna, you’ll find an island paradise’s worth of cities drenched in history and culture. The capital city iself, Cagliari, features the island’s largest airport, the Cagliari Elmas Airport.
You can fly straight in and only be 4 miles away from Sardegna’s center. Or, if you’re coming up from Corsica or below, you can take the ferry into Santa Teresa di Gallura in the South. While you’re there, be sure not to miss the Bastione Saint Remy.
You can then move onto Carloforte, a popular resort town, which also isn’t far away from Algehero, an ancient town that features the Cattedrale di Santa Maria, which is an amazing example of Italian Gothic architecture. You can also spend some time sunning on the many incredible beaches there too. And once you’re done with the sand and sea, move onto Castelsardo, which is a great place to stop for food and town life.
Nearby is the town of Bosa, located on the banks of the Temo River, which is great for riding along on a motorcycle of your own.
