Landing at Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport, you find yourself just a short ride from the picturesque Italian city of Trieste. With a scooter rental you can zip through the streets and soak in centuries of history and culture around every corner. Trieste boasts elegant piazzas, opulent palaces, fascinating museums, and stunning vistas along the Gulf of Trieste.
Start your journey in the largest square, Piazza Unità d'Italia, bordered by impressive 19th century buildings in the grand Austrian style. Stroll along the pier to see yachts bobbing in the sparkling waters. Make your way up the hill to the Castello di San Giusto, a medieval castle with panoramic views.
Don't miss the Roman theater ruins nestled below. Continuing through the pedestrian streets, you'll come across ornate churches like the Cathedral of San Giusto with its two imposing towers. The Chiesa di Sant'Antonio Taumaturgo is also worth a visit to admire the Baroque interior.
For art lovers, the Revoltella Museum houses 19th and 20th century works in an elegant neo-Renaissance palace. When hunger strikes, find a cafe in the Piazza della Borsa to try fresh seafood caught that very morning. Or for a sweet treat, sample local pastries like presnitz and putizza.
In the evenings, join the passeggiata as locals stroll along the waterfront at sunset. With a motorbike rental in Trieste, picturesque seaside towns like Muggia and Grado are just a short ride away. Or head inland through the rolling Friulian hills dotted with vineyards.
Coastal drives offer stunning vistas around every bend. With so much history, art, culture, and natural beauty so easily accessible, Trieste is a rider's delight.
