The Latvian capital of Riga has long been an important center of trade and culture in the Baltic region. Arriving via the modern Riga International Airport, you'll want to get your hands on some two-wheeled transport to start uncovering the rich history and vibrant culture of this charming city. Hiring a motorcycle, scooter or quad bike is the perfect way to explore the winding streets and sprawling parks at your own pace.
Wander through the UNESCO-listed Old Town, with its cobblestone lanes, gothic churches, and Art Nouveau architecture. Stop for a strong Latvian coffee amid the bustle of Livu Square, the historic heart of the city. Venture further to discover Riga’s up-and-coming creative districts, filled with converted warehouses now housing quirky galleries, bars and markets.
When you need a break from the city, head down to Jurmala – Latvia’s premier beach town is just a short ride away along the Bay of Riga. Feel the breeze in your hair as you cruise along the coastal roads, taking in the pretty wooden summer cottages dotting the pine forests and sand dunes. Further afield, you can escape to the Gauja National Park, where medieval castles and ancient pagan sites reward intrepid riders.
Or explore the dramatic Baltic seaside and winding backroads of the Kurzeme region to the west of Riga. Wherever your rented motorbike takes you, enjoy the freedom to roam across this diverse and fascinating country at your own pace.
