The city of Lisbon in Portugal is a picture-perfect visit, full to the brim with cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins, and cathedrals that ignite your imagination. Lisbon is the foodie travelers dream, thanks to its’ seaside position providing a fresh seafood feast. You’ll discover Michelin-starred restaurants and gourmet street markets that’ll prove to be a delight for your senses.
Barrio Alto might feel relaxed and sleepy during the day, but by night it comes alive, transforming into one of Europe’s most raucous drinking locations. The seven hills that look down upon Lisbon are topped with lookout points known as Miradouros and are perfect places for must-see views over Lisbon, the Tejo, and beyond. A few Miradouros to get your teeth into are Portas Do Sol, Da Graca, and Castelo De Sao Jorge.
All give you stunning viewpoints and a hub to figure out where to explore next in Lisbon. Once you’ve explored everything the city offers, hop on your motorcycle hire and see what the surrounding areas have to offer. Around 30km northwest of the city center lies the town of Sintra.
Here you’ll find rugged landscapes, an ancient castle, and historical palaces, which has led to the area being recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. Stick closer to Lisbon and head to Chiado if you want to see one of the most popular places to experience the Lisbon sunset. In Chiado, you’ll find the Topo Chiado, a restaurant that offers an amazing view over Lisbon.
The views make it obvious why it’s a top choice to watch the setting sun. Whether you decide to stick to the city or wind your way through the surrounding hills, rent a motorcycle, scooter, or hire a quad for the perfect way to see the sights. Choose from Yamaha, Triumph, or Honda if a motorcycle takes your fancy.
Or opt for a Piaggio scooter, ideal for bobbing around the streets of Lisbon.
