Touching down at Tenerife South Airport puts you in the perfect spot to pick up a scooter and explore the island of Tenerife. Arona serves as a phenomenal home base, with plenty of sights and activities right in town and along the coastline. Meander along the seaside promenade and take in the ocean views on two wheels before grabbing a bite overlooking the water.
The mild climate makes riding comfortable year-round. Scoot inland to the village of Chayofa and wind through the lush greenery and rolling hills at the foot of Mount Teide. The volcanic landscape is unique and full of intrigue.
Don't miss driving through the otherworldly Moon Valley, with its fascinating rock formations carved by past eruptions. A must-see site just north of Arona is the Pirâmides de Güímar, an archaeological park home to six pyramid-shaped structures, the mysteries and purposes of which still puzzle historians today. Further up the coast, stop in the laidback surf town of Las Galletas for seafood by the beach before continuing on to Los Cristianos and exploring the duty-free shops and restaurants.
Consider heading inland to Santa Cruz de Tenerife to take in the sites of the island's capital and cultural hub. Stop at Mirador El Lance for breathtaking views of the city and beyond. Wherever you go, the freedom of having your own wheels lets you easily discover all the beauty and adventure that Tenerife has to offer.
