As part of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has been a major tourist destination for decades and it’s no surprise as to why. Sun-kissed beaches, year-round great weather, fantastic food, incredible roads to tour around on a motorcycle, and fabulous locals all offer the visitor a unique Spanish experience. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the closest airport (less than a mile away) which has connections to Europe and the Spanish mainland.
The island is perfect for exploring on a hired scooter or rental motorcycle, so embrace the freedom of the roads, beaches, alleyways, and byways and fall in love with Spain all over again. Teide National Park is an absolute must-see on the island, but you will need a permit first so be sure to arrange this in advance and in good time, it’s just about always windy, so you’ll want a light jumper or windbreaker at just about any time of year. The Los Gigantes Cliffs offer you some of the best views anywhere on the island and from the Marina you can arrange tours to nearby islands too.
Naturally, Tenerife has tons of restaurants, bars, and fabulous nightlife besides, and did we mention the beaches? Even if we did - they’re well worth mentioning again. The island is big enough to feel like you’re ‘somewhere’ but small enough to tour in a day on a hired scooter or motorbike and you’ll want to do that.
Loro Parque is considered the best zoo in the world and if you’re into that sort of thing, it’s an unmissable experience, when you’re walking through the underwater tunnel, you’ll see why.
