Arriving into Jaipur International Airport or coming in by train, you'll quickly realize India's Pink City lives up to its name. The peach and pink colored buildings give Jaipur an unmistakable charm. Renting a motorcycle, scooter, or quad is the best way to take in all the architectural beauty at your own pace.
A must-see is the City Palace, an impressive complex of gardens, courtyards, and buildings that showcase a fusion of Rajasthani and Mughal styles. Just southwest lies the stunning Hawa Mahal, known as the Palace of Winds, with its iconic multi-layered pink sandstone facade. Not too far away is the white marble splendor of the Albert Hall Museum inside Ram Niwas Garden.
After seeing the main attractions, take your two-wheeler out onto the streets to view the pink cityscape up close. Stop for a bite at roadside food stalls and little cafes whenever you need a break. Ramgarh Lake makes a nice nature spot just outside the hustle and bustle.
Venture further outside the city center to check out the dramatic Amber Fort situated high on a hill. The ramparts and palace interiors are a sight to behold. On the way, you can make a quick photo stop at Jal Mahal, the unique water palace that appears to float in the middle of Man Sagar Lake.
No trip to Jaipur is complete without experiencing the bazaars, where you can browse colorful textiles, handicrafts, jewelry, and more. Remember to fill up your motorcycle or scooter and have it checked before longer trips. With your own wheels, you’ll have the freedom to fully explore Jaipur and the surrounding areas at your own pace.
