If you're thinking of doing a more adventurous ride, the rental shop is a great choice. There is so much to see and do in Namibia - almost too much! I'll be back again soon to do a different route. I went north up, to Ugab Terrace Lodge overlooking Vingerklip, and then Palmwag Lodge (one of my favourites in Africa). The Himalayan handled the gravel roads, occasional sand, and the climb up to the Terrace Lodge with no problems - actually really surprisingly good for a 25bhp motorbike. I saw lots of wildlife, including an ellie, sable, and a jackal. I then went west through the Namib, riding through dunes and a bit of deep sand (no problem) to the Skeleton Coast road. I stayed at Henties, Swakopmund, and Walvis Bay before riding back to Windhoek. Excellent service and support throughout. As I'm used to travelling in southern Africa, I just did a solo trip, with a mostly unplanned itinerary. For novices, the organised tours would be a good start. I think they also carry luggage, fuel, and spares in a Hilux, so that makes the riding easier. I had hoped for a Himalayan 450, but their arrival in Namibia was delayed, so I just took a 411. The motorbike was in good condition, and thoroughly checked over before I went. I got panniers and extra fuel cans (needed on the Skeleton Coast). We communicated via Whatsapp during the trip, so I could update them on progress. The only problem I had was caused by some unusual weather. Riding into a strong headwind, up the climb from the coast, heavily loaded, was very slow. The 450 would have been much better. But I got there in the end.

I took part in a motorcycle tour, Skeleton Coast, I chose the rental shop because of the easy Royal Enfield motorbikes. Very good choice, motorbikes are in very good condition, easy and perfect for gravel Namibian roads. The staff was always available to manage details, I drove with a guide who helped me explain how to cross some difficult parts of the road. There was also a mechanic with a 4x4 carrying all luggage and solving problems if needed. I always felt supported at any time! Lodges chosen were fantastic, like cuisine and landscape. If you follow their instructions, you could drive safely and enjoy a lot! Some guys that didn't follow instructions had problems, fell down and had an unpleasant experience. In the future I would like to try the longest trip!

I rented two motorbikes from the rental shop for a two week self-guided tour in Aug. 2025. It was one of the best adventures in our lives! We are very happy with both the motorbikes and the service! The motorbikes are kept in mint condition. You will be riding, basically, a factory-new motorbike. We had minor issues which the team resolved instantly and passionately on a weekend! The team has assembled a well balanced group which will make sure you have a great time. About the bikes: The model they have is perfect for the combination of roads and the average skill level. Forget about YouTube reviews of KTM, Tenere etc. - there it will be you on the motorbike, and it will be reality vs your opinion. About the needed skill level: MX Racers - move on, this is not for you, you will have fun regardless; Others: Do yourself and the group a favor, complete a bunch of motocross classes. Otherwise you will be too slow or break a bone and will crush the dreams and time and money for the rest of the group. If you are "very good" on asphalt... that is not enough.

Four blokes from Australia flew out to Namibia and hired four Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycles from the rental shop. The motorbikes were in excellent condition and we could tell had been looked after impeccably. The staff helped us a huge amount with route planning and accommodation options before and during the trip which was of immense help to us. I cannot speak more highly of this rental shop. By the way a three week motorcycle trip around Namibia is not to be missed, it is a country full of great natural features and the most friendly people.

When I had it in my mind to go to Namibia exploring stunning landscapes on two wheels, the first option came to my mind was the rental shop. They lived up to my expectation and beyond. From the first mail communication enquiring about the rentals to helping me plan the trip realistically through numerous mails, the team went beyond being just a rental company. The motorcycle was fully serviced, pick and shine. I had warm welcome by the operation team at their office. The staff has been kind and supportive and addressed all my concerns. They wished me well for a safe and successful trip through the tough terrains. The mechanics were very knowledgeable and helped me address technical concerns as well. The experience has been exhilarating! From the rugged terrain of the Namib Desert to the scenic coastal roads, Namibia is a motorcyclist's paradise. The Royal Enfield Himalayan was the perfect machine for the desert terrains. It sprinted like a Namibian horse in the desert and never let me down a moment. After all it was just you and the Himalayan in most remotest places, with no humans in sight. I had the full trust in the HIMALAYAN and the rental shop team who took care of it. Thank you the rental shop for helping me achieve this dream. You have been part of my wonderful journey. We just returned from a month-long motorcycle tour through Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. This was the second year in a row we rented a Royal Enfield Himalayan from Chris (Namibian Motorcycles and Tours). What we love about Chris and his team is that they translate our travel wishes into achievable goals, checking whether the off-road sections are manageable for two adults on one motorcycle. They also know how to arrange some truly unique overnight accommodations. Our tour started in Windhoek via Waterberg, Grootfontein, Rundu, Divundu, Kongola, Katima Mulilo, and Ngoma to the Victoria Falls on the Zambian side. We covered this section for two weeks. Then we crossed the Victoria Falls Bridge into Zimbabwe to view the falls from that side. After a total of five days at the falls, we drove back to Botswana and then, via Kasane, Nata, Gweta, Maun, Ghanzi, and Gobabis, returned to Windhoek to conclude our month-long tour. Because we took advantage of the opportunities for river safaris, bushwalks, and game drives everywhere we went, we felt completely at one with the rich natural beauty and the overwhelming abundance of wildlife for a month. Because the road sometimes ran through national parks, we saw giraffes, elephants, impalas, and baboons crossing the road from the Royal Enfield. We saw a lion trying to cross the road, but upon seeing us, it turned back into the tall grass. We could never have experienced all this without Chris and his team. A sincere thank you for this. And a big compliment to the motorcycle, which worked perfectly throughout the entire trip and is also very economical, averaging 4 liters per 100 km. This meant the 3500 km trip cost the equivalent of €140 in fuel! The only downside to motorcycle tours organized by Chris and his team is that they are addictive, and we're cautiously considering exploring Angola from Windhoek next year.

Fantastic advice and back up from Chris and his team on our self guided tour around most of Namibia. The motorbike performed well on all sorts of roads and even when the roads were gone and on river crossings. No mechanical issues apart from a couple of punctures, emphasizing the need for spare tubes, irons and tools.

Rented an Enfield Himalayan for 10 days. Chris was responsive, helpful and very welcoming. The motorbike is just right for the country's mixed terrain. I didn't have to call on his support services, but it was great to know they were there if needed! Bikes are more expensive than in other countries, but good value for Namibia.

Thank you very much for all your efforts to make this happen: the perfectly maintained motorcycle, the fitting of the necessary accessories, the booking of the lodges, the route suggestions, all the practical tips and especially the personal approach that contributed to this unforgettable trip on two wheels. Absolute a fantastic experience ! Explored the Skeleton Coast and a number of bucket list item. The motorbike was well maintained and serviced; prices was extremely reasonable and the advice on riding area was priceless. I have travelled all over the world on two wheels and the 2000 km spent in Namibia were top notch. Chris and Sarah were absolutely a pleasure to deal with. Strong recommendation for motorcycling adventurers.
