I recently went to South Dakota for a camping trip and bachelor party during the same time as the Sturgis motorcycle rally. I could not bring my motorcycle because I was already bringing my camper and was not able to tow both or ride the motorcycle to South Dakota. After a day of being in the area and watching the motorbikes travel around the beautiful, curvy roads, I decided I had to ride. I looked at a few different websites for motorcycle rentals in the area and decided on the rental shop. I contacted the rental shop and they were able to supply one of the motorcycles to me in less than an hour. When I showed up, a friendly dog came up to say hi. The motorcycle was ready to go by the time I arrived. Filling out the paperwork was quick and easy. I normally ride a cruiser, so the Himalayan 450 by Royal Enfield was not a motorcycle that I was used to. The staff walked me through the general orientation of the motorcycle and was even able to supply a helmet and great tips on where to travel if I wanted to go off-road. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the price to rent the Himalayan was way less than it would have cost me to rent a cruiser or bagger in the area. I absolutely loved riding the Himalayan. It was responsive and performed beautifully on the Needles Highway. It also handled exceptionally well on the highways. Renting the motorbike that day was the highlight of my entire trip. The staff even gave me some great tips on where to look for a Himalayan if I choose to buy one. I plan to ride my own motorcycle to Sturgis next year, but if there is some reason I cannot, then I will definitely be seeing the rental shop again.
