When many people think of Mugla, Turkey, they may think of the province along the Aegean Sea. As beautiful as that is, the capital city bears the same name. Located about 61km from the nearest airport, Bodrum Airport, and featuring Gulluk Port, it should be easy to get to.
It can be a bit of a distance, however, so a motorcycle hire may be needed. Getting around on a scooter or quad could even be recommended. That’s especially true when you consider the nearby cities you might want to visit, such as Milas, Cine, Fanai, Nazilli, and Rhodes.
Then there are the points of interest that Mugla, Turkey, itself offers. Butterfly Valley may be one of the more notable. While you’ll need to get a boat here, the stunning visuals are more than tempting.
Oludeniz, a famed blue lagoon, also offers some stunning visuals. It could be more than worth spending a few hours having a picnic here. Sedir Island also offers some majestic views and has some interesting historical links.
If you’re looking for a true-blue historical sight, then the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus can be more than recommended. Named one of the Seven Wonders of the World, it’s something you can’t miss. There’s also more than enough for hikers to do, such as Babadag mountain, where you’ll get some beautiful views while enjoying a relaxing trek.
Make sure that you use a motorcycle hire or scooter hire to get there; you wouldn’t want to be too tired out before starting the hike.
