Supplied 9 DR650s direct to riders for south island tour. Bikes in good order. Had a couple issues which were sorted quickly. One motorbike replaced with a pickup and drop off, another 2 motorbikes picked up after a a couple of offs. Would highly recommend. Very organised with sign up and sign off at end of ride. Bikes were the best option for this group, some with off road experience and some without - thankyou for helping make their ride a huge success.

I had an amazing experience on my motorbike tour using this company. Nan & Wayne were very helpful. Very easy to book the motorbike I wanted. I chose a BMW GS900, perfect for touring the South Island. The motorbikes are well maintained and very good condition. Only rained twice in 15 days, the motorbike was still fun to ride, so good on the mountain bends. Dropping the motorbike off on a Sunday with pre arranged time was also very helpful. I left my suit case with them while I went on my 15 day tour of the island. I highly recommend using them if visiting the island.

I rented a motorcycle for two weeks and was extremely satisfied, both with the bike's perfect condition and the quality of the equipment provided. What really makes the difference, though, is the customer service: the rental shop was very responsive throughout the booking process and always available to answer my questions during the rental. I would definitely recommend the rental shop to anyone looking to rent a motorcycle with complete peace of mind.

I enjoyed hiring my BMW 1300GS from this company. All went smoothly with the hire. The motorbike was outstanding. The changing scenery; from quaint rolling rural hills, to skyline alpine vegetation, deep rain-forest and open coastal surf was thrilling. Small towns trapped in time. I never imagined a motorcycle that could soak up the kilometers so calmly and take care of your comfort so thoughtfully. I feel in love with this motorbike - we seemed to have respect for each other. The South Island - motorcycling paradise.

Made a last minute decision (3 weeks out) to travel to NZ South Island and head to the Burt Munro Challenge. Saw Epic Ride on official Burt Munro website and sent an inquiry. Within 36 hours of our initial inquiry, we had 12 days reserved on a BMW1300GS (driver/pillion, GIVI panniers and top box), had exchanged multiple emails and spoken via WhatsApp to discuss the route. Wei listened to our riding preferences (desired riding time/km each day, 1-2-3 night stays, other interests, etc…) and sent a thoughtful itinerary. We followed his recommended itinerary making our own bookings and planning our riding details - AWESOME! We did a nice loop that began/ended in Christchurch. All paved roads for us. We have rented in Croatia (x2), Italy, Spain (x2), South Africa. This has been one of, if not the best, of our rental experiences. Top notch service from Wei, Danny and Anson. We had a delay getting to NZ and Wei was super responsive and accommodating. Danny picked us up from the airport and took time to thoroughly review road safety and driving in New Zealand (lots of tips and advice). On return, he shuttled us to our hotel in central Christchurch. The motorbike was in excellent condition with new tires and a full tank of gas. No problems at all. You can’t see it all - so don’t even try to cram everything in 😁. Hoping to return for another and highly recommend Epic Ride!!

The V-Stroms were fantastic. We were a bit concerned initially, as our usual motorbike is a Harley, but as the others in our group were riding Suzukis, we decided to go along with this. They handled great in the wet weather, and after day 1 we settled into the new riding style...comfortable as. Thanks so much for the added extra of collecting all 6 of us (plus luggage) from the airport, and dropping us at our hotel too!! Would defs use the rental shop again unless we go with a Harley next time!!! Getting ready for our next ride!! South Island was amazing.

From the initial enquiry right up to collection/return of motorbike, communication was prompt and very accommodating for my needs, even those last minute add ons. The motorbike was perfect for my needs, comfortable to ride and handled like a dream off and on road. The saddle bags and luggage bag were fantastic. Bike was still light and well balanced after everything was loaded on. The rental shop staff are amazingly friendly people and a pleasure to conduct business with. I will definitely be using this company again when I return for another ride around NZ.

The rental shop are the best! They absolutely run the best motorbike rental on the South Island. Our group of 8 just rented some Suzuki DR650's and had the time of our lives! The motorbikes were clean, reliable, and well maintained. The staff went above and beyond in so many ways to accommodate our group by helping with our route, drop offs, advice on local attractions, etc. The staff is passionate about riding and it shows. I wouldn't go anywhere else next time I'm looking for rentals. Thanks!

Epic was quickest with response to inquiries, we spoke about their expansive fleet of various motorbikes and options available. Within 36 hours we had arranged for motorbike rental, flights, and possible routes. Wei and Anton were very responsive to help us put this together on short notice, at a fair price. Epic picked us up at the hotel, had the motorbike outside and ready to go, offered a very good deal on rental gear (which was brand new, good quality) as we were not going to pack our own gear for the quick turn around (and save on airport fees). We own 3 motorbikes (GSA, KLR, and GL). Wei looked at the possible weather we'd be experiencing, and considering quite a variation in weather this time of year, and having my pillion. We decided to go with his GL. There is some wonderful technical, along with sweepers in southern NZ. Highly recommend Epic Motorcycle Hire.

Great service, quality motorbike and easy to deal with. After struggling to find a rental motorbike to take off the tarmac EpicRide was able to set me up with a Tenere. I was picked up from the airport and fairly quickly released to the wild on an immaculately maintained motorbike. When the weather turned sour and I was isolated on the wrong side of some road closures I was able to extend the rental and arranged some flexibility with return of the motorbike. On return I was given another ride back to my accommodation. Minutes away from the airport, I would use this company again and happy to recommend for others. Thank you EpicRide.

Wei and Anson looked after everything with helpful and professional hints. Pickup and return to my hotel made the trip super convenient. I hope to return!

Words don't do this company and the ride justice. The contact was professional and timely. Wei from the start was informative and responsive from start to end. I hired a BMW GS1250 R, a motorbike normally I wouldn't ride as a KTM owner, and it was outstanding. Bottom end torque, heated grips, amazing seat, and suspension. There is so much to this motorbike, and I highly recommend riding it, as the journey was 5 days long, and I pulled up well after each day. If you have a problem throughout your journey, don't hesitate to reach out to Wei. Actually, I would advise the sooner you let him know the better as he can arrange replacement motorbikes and provide technical support. He will give a full run down on the motorbike and pay attention if it is a new ride. Finally, there is no amount of words to describe what you see and experience from rolling hills to snow-capped mountains and then the weather. Don't be afraid either as Wei does check in with local knowledge and suitable route options. Even ask the locals as they are a wealth of knowledge. Just returned a ktm 790 and a Yamaha T7 after 9 days. I have been fortunate to have been on adventure motorbike trips on 4 different continents. This was hands down the best. The paved streets are like a race track super fun and curvy no pot holes or sand. You can take dirt roads forever and get way into the back country. The motorbikes were perfect our rental gear was new and top quality. The crew at epic rides was also top notch. I really can’t say enough about this trip. If you come you too will be blown away. This is the first adventure motorbike trip that I have been on that at the end I am not sick of being in a motorbike. I could just keep going. Roger Mercaldi. USA

It was a pleasure to rent the Honda CB500X from Motorent.nz for a two-week tour across both the North and South Islands. The motorcycle was well-prepared and performed flawlessly, showing no signs of wear or issues throughout the journey. I conducted daily checks, but everything remained in excellent condition. The tires were in good shape, the brakes responsive, and the suspension both smooth and comfortable. Overall, it was a safe, reliable, and easy-to-handle motorbike. Together with my son, who rode his own motorbike, we covered over 3,900 km from Auckland to Queenstown, traveling along both the eastern and western coasts—creating unforgettable memories. In November 2024 we rented 5 DR 650 and after we were back at the rental shop every motorbike had 4400 k more on the clock. The motorbikes were in excellent condition and they carried us over lots of gravel and through numerous fords. So, if you come to the South Island and need a motorcycle, shoot the rental shop a message they can offer you various models and luggage bags as well. The rental shop has 5 Google stars and it is worth every star. Ciao.
