Great bike well serviced and clean, friendly staff!
Yes it was a R1300 GS. But not the triple black model as advertised. Both tyres on mine were on or past the wear bars and squared off on the rear. Well past their best. Would have been useful to change or remove some of the huge panniers but not an option. Decent value hire otherwise.
We rented five motorcycles from Europcar Faro Montenegro. First, I will describe the positives. We originally booked four Hondas and one BMW. Before our arrival, we received an email informing us that they couldn't provide the Hondas, but they would give us BMWs at the same price, which I found very fair on their part. Now, the negatives. The problems started when we picked up the motorcycles. One of them had both its front and rear tires completely worn out. They told us that the rear tire was already on the way and would be replaced as soon as it arrived. This meant we had to wait an extra hour and a half for the replacement. I told the employee that we would be riding 1,500 kilometers and that the front tire was also so worn out that it wouldn't last the trip. He replied that it would be fine, and since they couldn't offer another motorcycle, I had no choice but to set off with the worn tire. Unfortunately, I was right—after 1,000 kilometers, the tire was completely worn out and became a safety hazard. I had to find a repair shop where, at my own expense (€100), I bought a new tire because we still had 600 kilometers to go before reaching the rental office. I kept the worn tire to avoid any disputes when returning the motorcycle. At the rental office, they photocopied the invoice and gave me an email address where I needed to send my complaint. I wrote to them, attached photos, and explained what had happened. Two weeks later, they responded that the tire was in good condition when I took the motorcycle, and since they had not authorized the replacement, they refused to reimburse the cost. I am posting some photos so everyone can decide for themselves who is right. My advice to everyone is to check the tires before setting off, and if they seem unsafe, do not start the journey—otherwise, you might end up in the same situation as I did.
I'm very satisfied with the rental company. Pick-up and return went smoothly. Nice, friendly staff. Well-maintained bike. I would rent a motorcycle here again. I highly recommend it!
