I rented a 1100cc Honda Africa Twin from Rent-a-Scooter and it was hands down the easiest decision I made in Madeira! It was €47 for 24hrs! Best deal ever for the size motorbike and the allotted time! It comes with a storage container big enough to fit a 30L bag plus more, windshield, and phone mount for any phone. Marcelo was the gentleman that helped me out with my rental and if anything changes, he does have a number you can contact him at. The motorbike is tall, smooth and fast! I had a really great experience with Rent-a-Scooter Funchal and can honestly recommend them to anyone visiting Madeira. The staff was extremely friendly and patient. They answered every single question I had without rushing me and made the whole rental process very smooth. What I especially appreciated were the flexible return times. Even though you have to return the scooter on the agreed day, you have time until 17:30, which means you can still fully enjoy your last day on the island without stress. That makes a big difference when you want to make the most out of your trip. The pricing is very fair for what you get. It’s definitely worth it. I was even able to borrow a second helmet spontaneously so I could take a friend with me and they didn’t charge me any extra for it, which I found very generous. In my opinion, having a scooter in Madeira is almost essential. The island is so beautiful and diverse, and with a scooter you can truly experience places that would otherwise be difficult to reach. It gave me so much freedom to explore. One thing to keep in mind: if you pay the deposit in cash, you get it back in cash on the day you return the scooter. If you pay by card, it can take up to 20 working days to receive the refund. That’s important to know when planning your budget. I personally didn’t have enough cash with me, so I had to pay the deposit by card. However, I needed the deposit back earlier than expected. Thanks to their excellent customer service via email, they actually arranged the refund faster than planned, which I’m very grateful for. Overall, a very professional, friendly, and trustworthy rental company. I would definitely rent from them again.

I rented an NX500 for 2 days, after I missed my original flight home. The motorbike was in perfect condition, well maintained. Pick-up and drop-off went seamlessly, and it is an absolute joy to talk to the guys who work here. Great customer service, and good motorbikes. Weather can be unpredictable on the island, but despite this, seeing Madeira on 2 wheels is still the best way to do it. If you’re visiting madeira, get a motorbike from these guys for at least a day, and you won’t regret it.

Rented the suziki vstrom 800 for 2 days The great motorbike model advice, the reasonable price and the wide variety of helmet and clothing sizes (which is included in the price) makes me come back. If you rent a bit longer then a day, it becomes cheaper, ask for the scheme. I made some damage and was a little afraid of the high cost but it came out very reasonable price, they did not even charge the work it takes to put the part on the motorbike. Also their whatsapp nr was extremely available helping me out the closest fuel shop with a google maps link in the time of the traffic light 8-) tip: use gear 1 + standard, otherwise the motorbike falls with a small incline. As they did not screw me over with the damage, it creates trust. This is from now on my goto rental place which I also will share among my motor clubs. will definitely come back soon, thanks vivemadeira!

Great rental experience in Madeira. The scooter was in excellent technical condition and everything felt solid and well maintained. All the wearable gear (helmet, gloves, etc.) was clean and not worn out, which I really appreciated. Pickup and drop-off were on time and easy, with no hassle at all. Would definitely use this service again and recommend it to anyone visiting the island.

Had a great experience with Rent-a-Scooter Funchal as all the communication went smooth - everything was understandable and well explained. I rented Honda Transalp for one day and had a really nice road trip - perfect motorbike for exploring Madeira. The only downside is that the deposit refund takes really long time (more than one month), so full insurance or cash deposit should be considered.

I rented a scooter for 6 days and everything was brilliant. From the pick up point which was very convenient for me because they could deliver it to me at the airport until the drop off moment. They didn't make it awkward with checking the scooter and finding things that they are not there. I'll definitely recommend this company for renting scooters

We hired a scooter for 5 days - a 125 cc that did the job great for us We went all over then island and it managed just fine - no drama at all There is in my option is no better way to enjoy an island like Madeira then on a scooter. Easy to park and go any where on. We packed waterproofs which were needed when you go up north or over the mountain in the middle. Surprisingly good roads that are often going though the mountains in the many tunnels and very considerate native drivers too. Great hire company - we’ll kept and maintained machine and very friendly staff we would definitely recommend and use blizt again.

Good service, fast and convenient document processing. The technical condition of the equipment is good, although my motorcycle needed servicing 1700 km back. I hope this is not a problem. I took the KTM-890 Adventure, a very good motorcycle for riding in the mountains on serpentines, the low center of gravity makes for a comfortable and efficient ride.

Walked into the shop after looking disappointingly elsewhere and the guys were fantastic . Couldn’t be more helpful, had the motorbike available that we wanted for when we wanted , fitted us out with everything we needed and even delivered the motorbike to our hotel . Bike was fantastic and in perfect condition and did everything I expected of it especially around the very steep hills. Easy and very friendly guys to do business with . Deposit returned straight away . Thanks guys will definitely hire again when we come back.

Absolutely tremendous motorbike hire company. Professional staff and excellent motor cycles with no issues whatsoever. There were 4 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the motorbikes 750cc Honda Transalps were well able to cope with the terrain around the island. We are returning in February and will hire motorbikes again. This company is a bona fide professional company.

I rent two motorcycle, first day it was Africa twin 1100 and for at Madeira roads it to heavy motorcycle, that's why I asked about another motorcycle and it wasn't any problem, so the next day i was driving honda Xadv 750, that's great motorcycle, it looks good, it sound good. Only 1 little problem is that's if you pay deposit by card, then you have to wait about 15 days.

Rented an ADV. Perfect condition. Perfect gear that comes free of charge: helmets, coats and gloves for 2 people (rider and passenger). Bike also came with a phone holder and a back compartment. I was lucky that the more popular rental companies were out of stock, so I had to fallback to the rental shop, where the prices were eventually cheaper. Booked in advance online with payment on arrival. Got recommendations on pickup, got answers for my questions on whatsapp, everything was smooth and easy. Perfect experience.

My boyfriend and I explored the entire island for two weeks on two Blitz scooters. The scooters were perfect for this, highly recommended 😎. What a sense of freedom we felt! Halfway through the holiday my scooter didn't start properly, possibly due to a sensor or battery issue, but no worries, because within an hour, extremely kind Lewis from Blitz was there to help us 🥰. When it happened again, I was gaven a new one to prevent it from happening again, and this was also handled very well. All in all, we're really happy with Blitz and the scooters; they truly made our holiday! 🌞😍

Fantastic experience! I booked through the website and immediately got a WhatsApp message. The same day I picked up a Honda 350 ADV with two helmets included for free. The scooter was powerful enough for Madeira’s roads, very comfortable, with plenty of storage and a top case for two helmets. In just three days we covered more than 400 km — everything went smoothly and it was pure joy!
