Rented a Vespa 125 with top box, helmet and gloves for a day to scoot around Milan. I’m a Vespa owner in the U.S. Friendly service in English. Scooter was in nice shape except for a loose mirror which they quickly fixed. It would have been nice to have the option to get a riding apron for the rain (because it rained - a lot) but I don’t know if they rent those and I did not ask out of ignorance. Cost was about 75 Euro out the door plus a 800 Euro deposit on credit card which was refunded quickly. The shop is in Segrate on the outskirts of Milan, and it's a bit out of the way. I took the train from central Milan to get to Segrate and then walked for about 30 minutes to get to the shop (because I like to walk). You can also take a bus or rideshare of course but be aware the shop is tucked down a back street. Google Maps led me there accurately. As noted, it’s a bit out of the way so there’s the cost to get there (trains and buses are cheap) plus the travel time. They requested I return it at 4:45pm as they close at 5pm. They only have the one location in Milan so basically I had to do a big loop to get it back in time. If I were to do it again, I’d definitely rent it for at least two days to make it more worth the money and time. They offer a wide range of mostly motorcycles (I didn’t see any other Vespas at the shop) but for my purposes, the Vespa 125 was a perfect size for getting around Milan quickly. Top speed was 85 kph/52 mph. If it is your first time riding a scooter in Italy, just be aware that scooters can lane split/filter and park pretty much anywhere, but the roads can be challenging in spots due to construction, rough pavement, train rails and potholes. But on balance, there’s no better way to see Milan (and Italy) than on a Vespa!! I personally ride a Vespa GTS 300 in the U.S. and that’s what I really wanted but choice was limited. If you want to ride to another city via highway, definitely opt for their BMW 650GT super scooter for 85 Euro per day. A GTS 300 would also work for long distance riding if they had one in stock (the online order form indicated that they do rent them). Otherwise, I highly recommend this shop, just be aware of the location and return times. Prego! William Roberson Travel Journalist President, Vespa Club Portland (Oregon)
