Most visitors to the stunning Greek island of Corfu will likely arrive either by plane or ferry. If you’re flying in, you’ll probably come in via the Corfu International Airport (CFU) which is over 6km from the center of Corfu. There’s also a daily ferry from several points on the mainland which will take you to the Kerkyra port on Corfu.
From there, you can explore the other Ionian islands. The Island of Corfu is well known for its stunning beaches. There are a variety of sandy beaches, including the busy and cosmopolitian Glyfada and the quieter beach of Kontogialos.
You can also find some pebble beaches in the northern parts of the island. There are some impressive seaside resorts to visit from Agios Stefano to Agios Georgios of Pagon. Corfu is brimming with natural beauty.
Corfu city is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Greece. The Old Town is a World Heritage Site, meaning that the architecture of centuries past has been preserved. It’s a wonderful place to visit if you like to walk through the streets of history.
This city is also well known for its culture and tradition in the fine arts. While Corfu is a historical marvel, all the modern conveniences are available for visitors and residents. The nearby towns and villages are also beautiful, such as the picturesque village of Amfionas or the olive groves surrounding Kassiopi.
Motorcycle hire is a fantastic idea to let you explore both the city and the island of Corfu. You can travel down the narrower streets with no trouble and have the freedom to appreciate the natural beauty of the island. You could also consider scooter hire or quad hire.
